THE TRIO - VIC/BEN - POL/PAUL

The Trio
Before crossing paths with Yoko, Vic Video / Ben Beeld and Pol Pitron / Paul Pola dreamed of a series called "The borders of fiction". With their new colleague, they would be served. Gestures and looks betray the deep feelings which connect Vic/Ben, Pol/Paul and Yoko with each other. "One of the limitations of a comic is ...", tells Roger Leloup with regret, "...that you can't penetrate the hearts of the characters, into their doubts and fears, as you can do with a novel or so."
Vic/Ben
Yoko and Ben Leader at the beginning, Vic Video / Ben Beeld is soon supplanted (*) by Yoko's strong personality, which sides the TV director to a supporting role, desperately in love with the one who spends her time to go towards new adventures. "He is the friend of Yoko. He's got a paternal side. He brings calm and peace to Yoko. While Yoko runs head first, he needs to think, to take a step back. He's a rationalist. I didn't make their relationship stronger because some readers who are unconsciously in love with Yoko would otherwise feel left out."

Pol/Paul
Paul Pola Pol Pitron / Paul Pola, the cameraman, is the clown of the trio. He is always complaining, is very clumsy and always does the wrong things. He makes bad situations even worse than they already are. "Paul seems a bit like me: he complains; he's against everything. He always sees the negative side of things. Initially he always refuses but eventually he does what is asked of him. He's the opposite of Yoko."
